This did leave the base game feeling incomplete and full of plot holes. This cut content was left on the game files but programmed out of the main game. When KOTOR II released, there were hours of content that was made but was cut from the finished product.

The Restored Content Mod for KOTOR II, was perhaps one of the biggest labors of love made, arguably in all of gaming history. I would be remiss in not mentioning this mod. It’s definitely worth the download for people looking to see ol’ Helgen restored.Ħ – The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod – Star Wars: The Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords You gain new allies, a new player home, and more in this mod. The amount of work put into it, complete with voice acting of the new characters, makes it feel like a fourth expansion to the base game. However, the Helgen Reborn mod changes all that and allows for the town to be gradually rebuilt and repopulated.
After the opening part of the game, Helgen is left in ruins and remains that way for the rest of the game.
It’s the walled city where you, the player character, first arrive and first witness Alduin, the World Eater’s attack. Plus the mod adds a whole new radio station, Radio Goodsprings, with 30 new music tracks to listen to as you travel and they’re period/setting appropriate so no unusual songs that’ll stand out (the songs can even be found in the mod’s files in mp3 form so you can copy them over and enjoy them outside the mod too). Plus it also grants you access to a trade terminal, allowing you to buy and sell with traders all across the Mojave. The Vault has room for you and all your companions as well as a shooting range, an armory that’s stocked with a large array of weapons (even mini-nukes), a swimming pool, a diner, rec room, garden, formidable defenses such as a Protectron and ceiling turrets, devices that will cure your ailments and remove any radiation you might have, devices that’ll purify your water supplies, recharge your batteries, and will fill any bottles you have on you. All she asks is that you first bring her three pieces of coyote meat to gain full access to the house and the Vault beneath it. The house looks non-descript but is fully furnished and comes with a housekeeper and caretaker named Alice who can follow you on your adventures into the Mojave upon request. What can I say? I like nice player homes, and for the post-nuclear wasteland, Vault HQ1 is a nicely made Player Home located within the starting area of Goodsprings. With a full perimeter wall, a cozy outdoor shack for your Housecarl to sleep in, an outdoor blacksmithing area, an area for you to plant some crops, a nice outdoor patio kitchen complete with gazebo that offers a splendid view of the capital city of Solitude, it’s a simple mod but it certainly made coming home to the family all the more enjoyable.Ģ – Mass Effect Unification Mod – Star Wars: Battlefront II (Classic)ĭetailed Review here: 3 – Vault HQ1 House on a Hill – Fallout New Vegas My character’s family would always live here but as my adopted kids would say: “This place is scary, there’s monsters in the swamp I just know it.” Well, with this mod, the estate becomes considerably less scary and much more secure. In both of my playthroughs of Skyrim, one thing that remained consistent was my choosing the swampy northern estate of Windstad Manor in the region of Morthal in Skyrim as my main home.

I’ve definitely become something of a PC gamer and while consoles are fine if you want the vanilla versions, PC versions offer a whole new world of opportunities.
Some games are designed with custom builds in mind or they’re made anyway by dedicated fans. Most PC Gamers have modded games to enhance their experiences with said games. Be it retextures to enhance the game on an aesthetic levels, new characters, weapons, bug fixes that the developers have overlooked, or even items so powerful it makes you a veritable god within the game world. Game Mods are perhaps the things that make many a video game so much more fun.
